What airport do I fly into?
We suggest Albuquerque airport, which is approximately 2 and ½ hours from the site.
How do I get there?
Directions to the site will be provided with your registration packet.
Will my cell phone work?
There is excellent phone coverage for some cell phones. Verizon and Alltel work well here.
Can I bring my pet?
No, we are unable to accommodate any pets, with the exception of an assistance animal.
What will the weather be like?
Last year in August, the average temperatures ranged between 80 and 90 degrees with lows of 50 to 55 in the night. Expect sporadic rain showers in the afternoon.
What if I have special food needs?
Our master chef will provide fresh nourishing healthful meals using ingredients from our local farms. Vegetarian options will be available.
If you have special needs, we will do best to accommodate you. Please let us know at the time of registration if you have any food allergies. If your needs are very specific, please bring what you need.
What is the elevation at the site?
We are at 6,500 ft.
What is the wild life like?
The winged ones are abundant and frequently ravens are seen soaring over the canyon, with occasional visits from golden eagles, bald eagles and many small birds. There are many small rabbits and other small rodents, an occasional rattlesnake and in the distance of an early morning, the coyotes can be heard singing their morning song.
What should I bring?
Bring clothing for warm days and cool evenings. Pack your hat, sunscreen, sturdy closed hiking shoes, shorts, long pants, long sleeved shirts for evenings along with your flashlight, extra batteries and water bottle. Bring along a bathing suit for the occasional swim in the nearby lake. Bring writing materials for notes and journaling you may wish to do. If you are taking special medications, please bring an adequate supply.
In addition, bring your sleeping bag, pad and pillow as well as your toiletries and towel. Tents are provided. If you have difficulties bringing a sleeping bag and pad, or wish to bring your own tent, see the registration page for additional options.
What Time Should I Arrive?
If you are flying into Albuquerque try to arrive by 1:00pm or 2:00pm. This will allow you to set up on site and enjoy your dinner between 6:30pm and 7:30pm on Sunday, August 16th. We will have a welcome fire following dinner.

Note: It is suggested that you book your return trip from the Village to the airport at least 4 ½ hours before your departure flight time to allow for both security and immigration checks.
